Poison

Skin poison: 

  • Treatment - Remove contaminated clothing, wash the skin with a large quantity of water, immediately cover loosly with a cloth.

Eye Poison:

  • Treatment - Hold eye lids open, wash eyes with a gentle stream of water at body temperature for 15 minutes.

Swallowed Poison:

  • Treatment - Call 911, tell the person to spit out any of the remaning substance in their mouth if their is any, get the person to sit up and lean foward in case they vomit, clear any corrosive substance away from eyes, mouth or skin, watch their breathing, If their breathing stops start giving CPR, Dont give them any fluids unless poison control instructs you to do so, Collect a sample of the poison to show the doctors what he swallowed, Take a sample of the persons vomit if they have vomited.

Inhaled Poison:

  • Treatment - Carry person to fresh air immediately (dont let the person walk), Open all the doors and windows, loosen all tight clothing, If not breathing or has irregular breathing start CPR, Keep the person as quiet as you can, If convulsions start watch the breaching and lay them gently on the floor to prevent any head injury and pull the persons chin forawd so their tounge does not block the air way.
