Infants

Place baby on their back on a firm surface and kneel down at the baby's feet or you can put the baby on your lap facing away from you.

Place middle and index finger of both of your hands on the baby's upper abdomen. (below the ribcage and above the navel)

Push in fast with upward thrusts gently.

Repeat until the object is out of the baby's airway.
Children
- Stand behind the child with your arms wrapped around their waist, make a fist with one hand and place the thumb side of the hand to the child's body between the ribs and the waistline.
- Wrap your other arm around the child and grab your fist, keeping your arms off the child's ribcage and give four quick inward and upward thrusts.
- Repeat until the object is out of the child's airway.
